NATIONAL SHOTOKAN SHOBUKAN KARATE

CHAMPIONSHIP & SEMINAR CONCLUDED

 

National Shotokan Shobukan Karate Championship 2009 was organized by International Shotokan Shobukan Karate Association India at Surti Modh Vanik Ni Vadi (Khatiwala Wadi Sankul), Laldarwala, Surat , Gujarat from 24th December to 27th December 2009.
The Main Attraction of the Championship was Kancho Masaya Kohama (Black Belt 8th Degree, Japan). The tournament was organized by Sensei Kalpesh Makwana (Chief Instructor & Examiner, ISSKA India) & Shri Dipak Africawala (Chairman, ISSKA India & Corporator, Surat Mahanagar Palika).
On 24th & 25th December there was National Shotokan Karate Training Camp under the Kind Guidance of Kancho Masaya Kohama (Black Belt 8th Dan, Japan) & Sensei kalpesh Makwana.  In the Camp more than 450 Participants from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttaranchal, Haryana  etc. At the End of the Seminar, there was Black Belt Examination also. In which Chintan Patel, Ferahim Malek appeared for Black Belt 3rd Dan & Hitesh Vanza appeared for Black Belt 2nd Dan.
The Opening Ceremony of the Championship was on 25th December 2009 in which the guests were Kancho Masaya Kohama ,  Shri Jay Narayan Vyas (Minister for Health, Family Welfare & Tourism),
( Government of Gujarat )Shri Ranjit Bhai Gilitwala (Mayor, Surat Mahanagar Palika), Shri Kishorbhai Vankawala (M.L.A, Surat), Shri Kanubhai Vanani (M.L.A., Surat), Prof. Dr. B. A. Prajapati  (Vice Chancellor, South Gujarat University), Shri Darshnaben Jardosh, (Member of Parliament, Surat), Shri Bhimjibhai Patel (Leader, Ruling Party, B.J.P, Surat). 

The Championship was conducted on 26th & 27th December  2009. In the championship there was students from 5 years to 45 years.

There was more than 700 Participants in the Championship from More than 7 States of India.  Gujarat becomes the overall team champion & Maharashtra took the runners up. 

The Closing Ceremony  was held on 27th December 2009 in which  Shri Narottam Bhai Patel (Minister of Rural),  Shri C. R. Patil  (Member of Parliament, Navsari Dist.) were present.  The Medals were distributed and the momentoes were given to all the instructors.  In the closing Ceremony Sensei Kalpesh Makwana has been awarded with Black Belt 5th Dan by Kancho Masaya Kohama and certificates were also awarded to the Successful Candidates.  Honorary Black Belt 3rd Dan was awarded to Ishan Agrawal (Editor, MAW Network) & Honorary Black Belt 1st Dan was awarded to Shri Dipak Africawala (Chairman, ISSKA India).
